Gleaners, Inc. Reserve Operations Capital & Equipment Renewal Designated Fund

The Gleaners, Inc. Reserve Operations Capital & Equipment Renewal Designated Fund helps ensure the organization has the resources to respond to both planned needs and unexpected expenses while continuing its food rescue work across Mississippi.

Gleaners volunteers collect and distribute more than 900,000 pounds of food each year.

Since 1986, Gleaners has worked to keep good food from going to waste by collecting surplus food from businesses and other partners and redistributing it to organizations serving people experiencing hunger. Today, the all-volunteer organization collects and distributes more than 900,000 pounds of food each year.

Keeping that work moving requires more than food donations. Gleaners relies on vehicles, equipment, facilities and other operational resources to safely collect, sort, store and distribute food throughout the community.

This reserve fund provides financial flexibility for both anticipated capital needs and unforeseen expenses. It may support equipment replacement and repair, facility needs, vehicle expenses and other operational costs that are essential to Gleaners’ day-to-day work.

By supporting the fund, donors help Gleaners maintain the infrastructure behind its food rescue efforts and remain prepared to meet needs as they arise.
