Endow Mississippi Tax Credit

The Endow Mississippi Tax Credit allows individuals and businesses to receive a 25% Mississippi state income tax credit when making a qualifying gift to an eligible endowed fund at a community foundation like CFM. For example, a $10,000 gift may qualify for a $2,500 Mississippi state income tax credit.

How to Apply

Plan Your Qualifying Gift
Choose an eligible permanent endowment at CFM and decide how much you would like to give, from $1,000 to $500,000.
Obtain an Application
Request the Endow Mississippi application and instructions from CFM or the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy.
Complete and Return the Application
Fill out the shaded sections, sign and date the application, then return it to CFM.
Application Review
CFM will review your application and send it to the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy for further review and approval. Because tax credits are limited, submitting an application does not guarantee a credit. Once the Alliance approves your application, CFM will let you know.

Receive Your Tax Credit Documentation
After your gift is received, CFM will provide a final letter or form confirming approval of your tax credit.
Claim the Credit on Your Tax Return
CFM will notify the Alliance that your gift has been completed, and the Alliance will report the information to the Mississippi Department of Revenue. Gifts must be completed by October 31 to keep the tax credit allocation. You may then report the credit on Form 84-401, Mississippi Tax Credit Summary Schedule, when filing your state tax return.
