Friends of Andrew Bucci Fund
Helping Mississippi art teachers bring creativity and visual arts education into classrooms across the state.
Mississippi artist Andrew Bucci
The Friends of Andrew Bucci Fund honors the life and artistic legacy of Mississippi artist Andrew Bucci while helping strengthen visual arts education for students across the state.
Created in recognition of Bucci’s centennial and his lifelong commitment to the arts, the fund provides resources for public, private, and parochial school art teachers serving Pre-K through grade 12 students in Mississippi. Grants from the fund help educators acquire classroom materials and supplies that enhance visual arts instruction and create more meaningful creative opportunities for students.
One of Mississippi’s most celebrated visual artists, Bucci credited his own early teachers with recognizing and encouraging his talent as a young student. The fund reflects that same belief in the importance of arts education and the lasting impact teachers can have on future generations of artists and creative thinkers.
Through the Friends of Andrew Bucci Fund at the Community Foundation for Mississippi, supporters can help continue Bucci’s legacy by expanding access to visual arts education and creative learning experiences throughout Mississippi classrooms.
“It energizes me to know that my project is supported by Andrew Bucci’s legacy and the Community Foundation for Mississippi. I teach at a Title 1 school where many of my students don’t have access to pursue the arts beyond what is offered by the school. This grant will provide an opportunity for my ceramics students to further develop their clay skills.”
