Fondren Renaissance Foundation Fund
Supports the Fondren Renaissance Foundation’s efforts to preserve, strengthen, and invest in the Fondren neighborhood and its vibrant community life.
The Fondren Renaissance Foundation Fund supports the work of the Fondren Renaissance Foundation and its efforts to strengthen one of Jackson’s most historic and creative neighborhoods.
Fondren’s story stretches back more than a century and a half, evolving from a rural crossroads north of Jackson into a thriving community known today for its arts, culture, local businesses, historic homes, and medical district. By the 1980s, however, the neighborhood faced significant decline as development shifted toward the suburbs.
In response, residents and business owners came together to create the Fondren Renaissance Foundation, working to revitalize the neighborhood while preserving the character and diversity that made it unique. Their efforts helped transform Fondren into the vibrant, walkable, and community-centered district it is today.
Through the Fondren Renaissance Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation for Mississippi, donors can help continue investments in neighborhood revitalization, community engagement, cultural programming, and the long-term future of Fondren.
