Clinton Community Nature Center Endowment Fund
Preserving natural spaces, local history, and opportunities for environmental education in Central Mississippi.
Clinton Community Nature Center
The Clinton Community Nature Center Endowment Fund supports the long-term preservation and stewardship of one of Central Mississippi’s unique community spaces for nature, education, and local history.
Established to protect a historic tract of woods donated by the Price family in the heart of Clinton, the Clinton Community Nature Center has served the community since 1997 through environmental education, conservation efforts, and public access to nature. Today, the Center includes more than 32 acres of native vegetation, 2.5 miles of walking trails, the historic Natchez Trace, and the site of the 1872 Sumner Hill School, the first public school for African Americans in Hinds County.
Through educational programs, interpretive exhibits, and free public trails, the Center provides opportunities for people of all ages to learn about Mississippi’s natural environment and history.
The endowment fund at the Community Foundation for Mississippi helps support the Center’s ongoing mission to conserve its land and historic features while creating a place for the appreciation, enjoyment, and study of nature for generations to come.
