Central Mississippi Blues Society Endowment Fund

Supporting the music, culture, education, and community traditions that keep the Blues alive in Central Mississippi.

Central Mississippi Blues Foundation

The Central Mississippi Blues Society hosts Blue Monday most Mondays at Hal & Mal’s in Jackson.

For nearly two decades, the Central Mississippi Blues Society has helped keep the Blues alive across Central Mississippi through live performances, music education, and support for local musicians.

Formed in 2006 by Blues enthusiasts and musicians, the organization promotes Blues culture through concerts, community events, and educational programs like Blues in the Schools, which introduces young people to the history and practice of Blues music. CMBS has also supported musicians during times of hardship and worked to create opportunities for emerging artists throughout the region.

To help sustain that work for the future, the organization established the Central Mississippi Blues Society Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation for Mississippi. The fund provides long-term support for programs that promote live Blues music, music education, community engagement, and the continued growth of Blues culture in Mississippi.
