Books for Jackson’s Children Fund

Expanding access to books and early learning opportunities for children across Jackson

Books for Jackson’s Children was created around a simple idea: small acts can create lasting change.

Through support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, the initiative helps provide free books each month to Jackson children from birth through age five, helping build early literacy and a love of reading during some of the most important years of childhood development.

While the Imagination Library is available to all children through the United Way of the Capital Area, Books for Jackson’s Children focuses specifically on helping reach children in Jackson facing challenging circumstances while also supporting efforts to enroll more families in the program.

Just $2.60 a month provides one child with a free book mailed directly to their home. Additional support helps expand enrollment and connect even more children with books and early learning opportunities.

Founded by community members committed to education, literacy, and opportunity in Mississippi, Books for Jackson’s Children reflects a belief that meaningful change often starts with accessible, community-driven solutions.

One book at a time, the initiative is helping invest in the future of Jackson’s children and strengthening the community for generations to come.
