Blake Coghlan Memorial Ag Scholarship
Supporting students from the Mississippi Delta pursuing futures in agriculture and agriculture-related fields.
Blake Coghlan
Blake Coghlan grew up in Holly Bluff, Mississippi, surrounded by the values and traditions of a fourth-generation farming family. From an early age, he developed a deep love for agriculture and dreamed of one day building one of the best farms in the Delta.
Known for his authenticity, humility, strong work ethic, and easygoing spirit, Blake was passionate about farming, family, and community. He studied agricultural science at Mississippi Delta Community
College and planned to continue his education at Mississippi State University before his life was tragically cut short.
The Blake Coghlan Memorial Ag Scholarship was established at the Community Foundation for Mississippi to honor Blake’s life and passion for agriculture by supporting the next generation of students pursuing careers in the field.
The scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from Yazoo County or Sharkey County who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture or an agriculture-related field at a Mississippi two- or four-year college or university. Through this scholarship, Blake’s legacy continues to encourage young people who share his dedication to farming, hard work, and the future of agriculture in Mississippi.
