Wolf Earns Regional PR Award For Friendsgiving
The Community Foundation for Mississippi’s Director of Communications and Insights, Sophie McNeil Wolf, APR, was recently awarded a Lantern Award (Short Term: Special Events) by the Southern Public Relations Federation for her contributions to CFM’s inaugural Friendsgiving event. The awards ceremony, held on October 23 in Biloxi, the outstanding public relations achievements across Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle, honoring the exceptional work of public relations professionals in the region. The Lantern Award is the top award for each category.
The Lantern Awards showcase the creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking behind the most impactful public relations campaigns in the SPRF states. Each entry was rigorously judged by a panel of industry experts, highlighting the critical role that public relations professionals play in building relationships, shaping narratives, and driving meaningful engagement within their communities.
“As a first year event, you are never sure how things will unfold. This team effort allowed us to visually show how CFM builds a bigger table and connect people from all walks of life together,” said Wolf. “We are looking forward to an even bigger celebration this year.”
At the conference, Wolf also received special recognition for earning her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in August. Established in 1964, the Accreditation Program is the profession’s only national post-graduate certification program, and granting the APR is overseen by the Universal Accreditation Board. She also spoke about her journey to accreditation in an APR breakout session during the conference and was a featured speaker with a digital ADA accessibility workshop.
Friendsgiving returns next week on November 19 to a sold-out audience. A waitlist is available here.
