CFM Opens Helping Friends and Neighbors Fund for Disaster Relief

Devastating tornadoes ripped through southwest and central Mississippi on Saturday, March 15, 2025. To support local disaster efforts, the Helping Friends and Neighbors Fund at the Community Foundation for Mississippi will direct gifts to immediate response and longer-term relief in communities in Walthall and Smith Counties and other affected areas as they’re identified.

Donations can be made online here or by mailing a check to 119 S. President Street, First Floor, Jackson, MS 39201. Checks should be made to the Community Foundation for Mississippi with “Helping Friends and Neighbors Fund” in the memo line.

These funds will not replace local relief efforts but rather enhance disaster responses. Because of CFM’s community knowledge and connections, relief donations can adapt to the current needs of communities.

The Helping Friends and Neighbors Fund has helped in other previous disasters, including the Jackson Water Crisis in the summer/fall of 2022.
