Piney Woods School Endowment Fund
Supporting the continued growth and mission of The Piney Woods School.
Founded in 1909 by educator Laurence C. Jones, The Piney Woods School has a long history of expanding educational opportunity for African American students in Mississippi. What began with one student grew into one of the nation’s best-known historically Black boarding schools.
Today, Piney Woods prepares students for future leadership through a holistic approach that combines academics, experiential learning, character development and practical skills. Its mission is rooted in developing the “head, heart and hands” within a faith-inspired community and inclusive African American ethos.
The Piney Woods School Endowment Fund provides long-term support for the school’s ongoing operations and advancement.
