Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Endowment Fund - Agency
Recognizing and supporting Mississippi’s artists, writers and musicians.
Founded in 1978, the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters was created to recognize the state’s creative talent and celebrate the important role artists, writers and musicians play in Mississippi’s cultural life.
Each year, MIAL presents juried awards to outstanding creative individuals in categories including fiction, nonfiction, life writing, youth literature, visual art, classical and contemporary music composition, photography and poetry. Winners are selected by distinguished judges from outside Mississippi who are leaders in their fields.
The Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Endowment Fund provides long-term support for this work, helping the organization continue honoring creative achievement across the state.
