Jackson-Hinds Library System Endowment Fund
Helping care for the library spaces people rely on every day.
The Jackson-Hinds Library System provides public library services to residents of Jackson and Hinds County, as well as surrounding communities. Its libraries serve as community hubs for learning, connection and opportunity, offering resources, programs and spaces that help people read, learn, gather and grow.
The Jackson-Hinds Library System Endowment Fund provides a long-term source of funding for select maintenance and upkeep needs across library facilities.
Because library buildings are typically owned by the city or county, major repairs can involve a lengthy public process. The endowment gives the Library System access to annual funding that can help address smaller but important facility needs more quickly, from signage and visibility improvements to updates that make library spaces more functional and welcoming.
Each year, the Library System can access a portion of the fund while the remaining balance stays invested for the future. That structure helps create a steady resource for maintaining the spaces where people across Jackson and Hinds County come to learn, connect and find opportunity.
