The Extra Table Fund supports the work of Extra Table, a Mississippi nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger by providing healthy, shelf-stable food to food pantries and soup kitchens across the state.
Since 2009, Extra Table has worked to address food insecurity through a different approach to hunger relief. Instead of relying primarily on canned food drives, the organization raises funds to purchase truckloads of nutritious food items—such as tuna, peanut butter, vegetables, beans, rice, and pasta—at reduced costs and distribute them directly to pantry partners statewide.
As the only non-government subsidized food bank in Mississippi, Extra Table focuses on delivering food efficiently and consistently while helping local organizations meet growing community needs. Through partnerships with food pantries, soup kitchens, volunteers, and donors, the organization helps provide reliable access to meals for Mississippians facing hunger.
