CS For Y’all Fund
Expanding access to computer science education and technology opportunities for students across Mississippi.
Households without access to both a computer and an internet service provider are excluded from digital connection. Additionally, those with smartphones as their only computer are limited to mobile-only experiences and are excluded from tasks requiring larger screens and improved functionality. This data helps target where these divides exist in Jackson. View more data from CFM’s Digital Inclusion Report for Jackson.

The CS for Y’all Fund was created to help make computer science education more accessible to students across Mississippi, particularly those in communities where these opportunities have historically been limited or unavailable.
Founded by educator and advocate JJ Townsend, the initiative works to bring together schools, educators, businesses, nonprofit partners, and community leaders around a shared vision for equitable computer science education throughout the state. The fund supports efforts designed to help students see technology and coding as accessible career pathways while preparing Mississippi’s future workforce for a rapidly growing industry.
Through initiatives like Summer of Code, the CS Teacher Fellowship, and the CS for Y’all Summit, the organization helps provide hands-on learning opportunities for students, professional development for teachers, and statewide collaboration around computer science education.
By partnering with the Community Foundation for Mississippi, the CS for Y’all Fund is helping create long-term support for programs that connect more students to technology, innovation, and future career opportunities across Mississippi.
